vSIp helping major UK charities make better use of their IT investment

Peter Beaumont worked for IBM for 21 years and then 14 years with BT culminating as BT Syntegra’s Business Director for Central Government which provided the management for 100,000 desktops, 25,000 help desk seats, 200 applications and IP voice and data network across central government clients. Peter was BT’s representative on the Government-Industry Senior IT Forum from 2000 to 2006. Since retiring from BT Peter has been a volunteer with the Samaritans and is studying for a degree in Psychology.

John Bennett is a programme director with 30 years experience of delivering IT and Telecoms projects for large organisations, including British Airways, TNT, NHS and DWP. Projects managed include critical IT infrastructure through to enterprise-wide process and IT re-engineering. John had enterprise wide sourcing and deployment responsibility of all resources for BT’s UK and international systems integration capability. Since leaving BT to train as a psychotherapist John has been a Youth leader for the Hampton Trust working with young people who have suffered from domestic abuse.

Neil Duncan retired from a long career with IBM culminating as Strategy and Design Manager for strategic outsourcing providing senior IT professionals for UK, South Africa and Holland for new business engagements and 45 major outsourcing contracts. Neil introduced financial and innovative management leadership to support aggressive cost reduction targets and was responsible for evaluating the business benefit of emerging technologies for customers. Since retiring from IBM Neil has worked with 5 charities through the Cranfield Trust and is Company Secretary of the newly formed Colin Chapman Museum Trust.

Kevin McDonnell worked for IBM for 32 years during which as a systems engineer he held a variety of technical leadership roles with some of IBM’s major UK clients, among them; Kodak, British Airways, Marks and Spencer, Argos, Sainsbury’s and Diageo and management positions with IBM clients including House of Fraser, John Laing, Nat West Bank, British Airways, ScottishPower and NTL. Since retiring from IBM Kevin has had a variety of volunteer roles with Macmillan Cancer Relief, his local church and by far his favourite: creating a wildlife pond for a local primary school.
