This is where vSIp may be able to help you. Bringing in that little extra resource, skilled in the strategic application of IT, to look afresh, suggest a different approach and offer some professional advice.
We are not paid for consultants, learning at your expense, neither are we the sales arm for some expensive piece of new IT. Sometimes our best advice will be asking why you are paying so much for a service you may not really need. And on the new service that we suggest - it just might be at little or no extra cost. Either way our services are at minimal cost and can demonstrate clearly that you take a strategic view of your organisation, and question how every penny is spent.
Typically, our engagement begins with an exploratory meeting with a board level sponsor within the client charity. This may lead to an intitial study undertaken by vSIp to look at an area of current concern. The initial study may result in work that the charity can take on by themselves or perhaps with modest support from vSIp. In other cases projects are identified that the charity wishes to undertake with more significant support from vSIP - all still on an expenses only basis. For the latter, we will agree one or more projects in a sequence and on a timeframe that is within the capacity of both the charity and ourselves. These further projects may be further studies or assistance with development or implementation projects.
For post implementation support we believe that the best model is for charities to be self reliant, where necessary contracting services such as network and hardware maintenance with commercial organisations. We have experience in these areas and are happy to assist charities in contracting and managing such services and/or in providing mentorship to the in-house IT management team where requested. Many of the delivered services will also require contracted services from commercial organisations for the supply of networks, hardware and software. In such cases vSIP can operate client side by assisting the charity on specifying and procuring those services.
